Default ford fiesta 1.6 tdci Zetec S wont turn over

My Sons 2007 fiesta Zetec S wont turn over , he went to a football match and when he went back to the car he heard the fan running, when he tried to start the car the ignition lights etc all came on but the car wouldn't turn over. We have tried bump starting , towing it re-charged the battery, checked fuses and relays , tried spare key... No Joy, does anyone have any idea???
Cheers Steve.

does the engine turn?

Jack the osf wheel up, put it in gear and turn the jacked up wheel, the engine should turn.

can you hear the realys click as you start it up? and does it turn over? Do the correct lights come in as you go through the start up sequence?

If this is the case it could be an imobiliser prob! Try disconecting the batery for a few hours and starting then! if this works you need to let the ecu learn the engine again!

good luck.

id say cooling fan relay has stuck causing battery to drain.jump leads for about 10 mins should start it.if the fan is still running try tapping the square box behind the battery to free off the relay.seen a few do this at my time at fords

Thanks everyone for your replies, the car is at a garage now, possible ECU after loads of errors showing on computer. Tip worth knowing, the electric fans speed is regulated by the ECU so if it kicks in at full speed its a sign that the ECU is not controlling it as it should be. Were hoping for a connection problem but realisticaly it doesn't look good.

Default SORTED!!!!

If your fan is stuck on at full speed it could be a problem with the ecu not comunicating with the dash clocks......turned out to be the clocks that caused the fault......new clocks Ł250.00......Recomend M-Tech at Wath nr Barnsley South Yorkshire......He was brilliant....

Default ford fiesta zetec s 1.6 tdci wont turn over!

After dropping my key, I went to my car its started up fine drove it about 5 mile and my stereo went off the abs light, battery light, power steering light (no power steering), air bag light came on also kept telling me the handbrake was on, i drove it steady to find somewhere to check the problem and as i pulled up all the light on dash went out i had nothing but engine was still running turned the car off and now it wont start not even wanting to turn over, the immobiliser light just flashes like made, but all the right dash lights come on as normal, i've checked fuses, put new battery on and there is nothing, could i have a faulty starter motor or could it be the ECU!!
