Default Info on zetec conversion please

My escort is currently a 1.3 and im wondering what drive shafts, hubs, gearbox and so on i will need to run a standard 2.0 zetec? Im hoping to just buy a mondeo and stripping it so shall i keep all the stuff from that or are they wrong length/sizes?

Any info would be greatly appreciated

i too am wanting this conversion for my 1.3 mk4. i think we need the rs turbo gearbox with lsd(although not essential)standard 1.3 will work, need to go for the early non pats ecu. Passive Anti Theft System(immoboliser),rs turbo petrol tank.
the 2.0 requires modification to the chassis i think but the 1.8 will go straight in. i'm still looking into this cus i want to start building a zetec to go in mine

in no way shape or form will you need to mod the chassis to fit a zetec,
i have seen some MORON section his chassis leg as the engine didnt go in from above, it WONT!

early non PATS 2.0 ecu esential

any mk3/4 (whatever model your car is) gearbox is fine and will do but agreed, LSD prefered.

use XR3i/RS Turbo/ 1.8d driveshafts for reliability

1.6EFi flywheel with modded holes and bolts

uprated clutch advised, not essential tho

CVH alt bracket, Escort sump, oil pump and pickup, waterpump+pulley if a 2.0 engines used and special belt

chop n change water hoses, this is fun

fit fuel tank if not XR3i/RST

make exhaust

thats it!

vrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

i have also used the XR3i MFi with a zetec and 1.3 HCS coilpack wasted spark system so no ECU needed
