im looking to sell the mrs's micra and the reverse has decided to play up, it only works when it feels like it so something is loose or faulty and im not sure whats up with it, the bulbs fine first thing i checked and if push on the gear stick when its in reverse sometimes the light comes on, hopefully one of you guys can help me

 

Sounds like the reverse switch, same happened on my mondeo and it was down to the switch wearing out in the gear box.
Of its located there on a Micra that is.

power to the switch?
power from the switch to rear lights?

 

Get a bit of wire or a paper clip. Take the electrical plug off the switch and put the wire/paper clip in the 2 electrical pins then switch the ignition on. If the reverse lights work its a switch
