sierra front shock absorber question, with pic

Default sierra front shock absorber question, with pic

i've just bought new shocks for my xr4i but not sure if there correct.

i ordered shocks for parallel springs but i think these are for pigtail ones, can anybody confirm this?

also can anybody tell me when fitting poly bush top mounts if i need the hard white plastic part on the left

sierra front springs are pig tail anyhow, its the rear springs that arnt pig tails

duno what that plastic bush is though, where did it come from?

Early Sierra front springs were pigtail, and all later Sierras were parallel.

Those shocks in the pics are for parallel springs.

No need for the white nylon insert either, they were only fitted to early cars.

Up to 84 were pigtails I believe

cheers for the info, the reason i asked, was my prings don't have a smaller end coil to sit in the recess on the cup of the shock, i'll post a pic up later of what i mean. will this type of spring be ok with these shockers?

Only the first mk1's were parallel, all later Sierra's were pigtail.

I don't really see a place were the end of the spring should be on the damper in the picture, so can't really answer that...

Well thats 2 different opinions,1 person says early card have pigtails and the other says later cars have pigtails.

Just need to know if the red springs can go on the new shocks?

I know this is an old thread but after central day my wheels were hitting the arch so removed shocks and springs and a bit knackered, what is the best way of knowing what shocks and springs i have (pigtail or not) my shocks look the same as the top picture, i have 1 coil slightly smaller at the bottom and have the nylon insert.
