They are quite quick off the line, but once moving you have as good a chance of staying with it as most fast cars (as long as your boot isn't full of amps and subs lol)

We had a play with one in Lawnsys car.... it had just been been "Red Rosed" and had allsorts else done to it so he was bragging how it would stuff the Sapph. Lawnsy's Sapph was running 6.9:1 comp, T34.55 (32psi at the time) and greys. We sat with it on the first run as he got the power down earlier then on the return both got the power down at the same time and we were pulling until the box got stuck in 4th . He couldnt believe a smokey old. Sierra was that quick. Both runs were rolling starts from around 30 - 40 mph.

if u think your car could keep with a 700bhp skyline then u might have a chance, clarksons video after that 1 he pits the tvr against the skyline and it gets tramped on, also a good race against a capri and a holden ,, the holden gets mashed ,,

As said, the ONLY way you will have any chance is from a rolling start. Go borrow some decent wheels and tyres off someone too lol!

Might be worth getting your fueling/boost checked before you go for it though, just for engine safety

It's surprising how fast a little fwd turbo motor can be, with 250bhp and a passenger my little escort would play with 360ferrari and Audi r8s, with the 300bhp engine it trounced most things including my mates 380bhp saff up to 120s. I'd say if it both had average drivers it would be close to call on the road. Anyone can drive fwd, I know how lively them 420bhp tvrs are.

you'll do alright from a rolling start with that power.
i struggle to pull till i'm in third on the dry worth my zetec turbo peaking currently at psi, lots and lots of wheelspin is what i get, on rolling though it does better than an on the spot burnout

That's Paul Chance's TVR he says it's 625bhp with about the same ft lb of torque
He was running a 2.88 ratio diff with a T56 gearbox with the 0.62 6th gear.

Hence the allegedly........the previous owner had laid it on thick to sell it but i didn't have the heart to tell him, he'd just sold his S1 to pay for the insurance - £4500!!! Other things he was told, it had 5mm shaved off the body to make it lighter and it was a one off colour due to the MD ownership. He lost 13k in a year once he finally sold it in depreciation alone. As they say a fool and their money.
