I failed by 3 points on the multiple questions but aced hazard perception.

Booked back in for next Thursday lol these people are gonna be sick of the sight of me haha.

as for hints and tips keep trying, feel free to be upset if you fail but dont let it beat you from reacgin your goal.

I tested myself on the practise theory on the directgov website, but need to read up on motorway because they've thrown in motorway questions - the one place Learners arent allowed to go! anyhoo next thursday, going to book it in now.

Unlucky.

A right kick in the teeth to fail by a few points, personally think it's worse to fail by a few rather than loads, atleast if you get them all wrong you know your crap

Revise like mad is all you can do to get those final few points.

Have you actually looked at the Highway Code? It's only a small book and all the answers are in there. There's no secret to passing, just learn the rules of the road.

TIP

Get a freind to ask you questions about what is in the Highway code but do not let them give you choices

Example - where should you not stop?

Now you have to remember all those answers .....

I had to 'ahem' retake my test too, and the theory stuff was a piece of piss, and 99% of it is stuff you'll just know from experience. The 'hazard perception test' is a bit vague though as it penalises you for clicking too much, but an experienced driver will spot more potential hazards than are in the video.

I'm not surprised, even the most placid person would have found it hard not to get carried away in that Skoda you had??

It's actually the 'hazard perception' which concerns me, because hopefully I should go through the general test without too much of a problem, given that I've had 10-11 years on the road previous to this and have a fair amount of common sense.

Well without any revision and while watching Top Gear... I did the free test on the Direct.gov.uk website:

90/100 (Pass Mark is 86)

Fingers crossed that I can equal or better that mark next Thursday.

Cheers,
Grant

Correct!

''The driving theory test will pose more of a challenge from Monday, because of changes designed to prevent candidates learning answers by heart. The change will mean that learner drivers will not be able to study and memorise answers from pre-published official study material.''

''The Driving Standards Agency said that the changes would mean that learner drivers and riders gain a better understanding of driving theory, because they can no longer rely on simply learning which options are correct for individual questions. Road safety minister Mike Penning said: "By bringing a stop to publication of theory test questions we aim to encourage candidates to prepare by learn each topic area thoroughly rather than just memorising the questions and answers."
