Hi all,

Cant make up my mind which way to go on the cossie....

Have got some stunning 18" comps and just bought 17" softspokes as I was worried about marking them on daily use ... and ruining the ride??

The softspokes wont go over my brakes
So.... 330 brakes and 18" comps, or softspokes and drilled/grooved?

Its a nice dilema to have dont get me wrong, but what would you do?
Its not going near a track so would just be pleasing to the eye!!
Will otherwise be selling brakes and comps

Big brakes combo are a better option - plus as many times that comps have been done they still a good option

Comps + big brakes for sure....look way nicer than the softspokes too imo

softspokes are too show and shine never rated them sell um lol comps look much harder plus never compromise on brakes ap,s are a good mod to make!

If the Comps are the only ones that will fit over the brakes, there is no choice to make IMO... uprated brakes, even on the road, are one of the best mods you can do to a car.

Comp's, i changed my soft lines to revolution in order to get brakes on, never looked back since.
Softlines are wank anyway, they buckled as soon as you lower the car down off the jacks, soooo weak,

brakes before rims IMO.
i've just fitted 324mm discs and four pots under 16" rims on my xr2, they're a bit big, but wouldn't go smaller now, even for "nicer" wheels.
comps are tidy, just be careful of kerbs.

Tricky one this mate. Part of me is thinking its nice to be putting the car back to how it was with the softspokes, it did allways drive nicely on them. My last black Saph drove lovely on 215/50 17 tyres but the other part of me likes the idea of bringing the car back like before but better, big brakes and more up to date or in fashion 18"Comps. I dont know how a Saph drives on 18"s but I wouldn't think it,d be too bad if you're not on coilovers etc but if funds are tight put the softlines on and sell the comps and brakes, you should be quids in !

Your right Gaz, there is alot of money in the brakes/comps..... but they would look good too!

Had a leak in the 4 pot which should be back this week, then it should be back on the road

Big brakes is one of the best mods you'll do.
I was a little skeptical, but damn they are good, you have so much more confidence in the car.

Nope lol, started it twice
Currently on axel stands......

engine bay all different, 500 splitter, 300's on rear, 330s up front.
Lots of polish

I cant wait to see it mate !! All this talk of driving fast and big brakes is making me laugh though, knowing you the most important brake will be the hand brake when its sat in the garage

Mate im quite nervous of driving it ... for the first time anyway lol.

on 215 35 18 it was fucking awful. changed to 204 40 18 and its very much like it was on 215 40 17's on the softlines.
Mines on coilovers, polybushed all round and has solid beam mounts though.

Watch out for that Rwd. It'll feel completely different to how it did before but it'll be a lot more fun
