We have another white 3 door of a very similar spec and the maps look pretty similar aswell. Last time it was hub dyno'd it made 519bhp

Here's certainly room for some work on it, no doubt it could be bettered but no way it's down on power like that without good reason.

There was one of our off the shelf 55s T34 cars in the mag last week or so and that made 430bhp lol yes more than a Good spec T4 car pmsl

Why are we being brought into this thread about how to spec and engine to suit a T4?
It could have been an interesting and productive thread for once!

Pretty much everytime you post on a thread like this it's to try to stir shit or score a few points.

We didn't build any of the engines in question here so i fail to see what we have to do with it?

It's just pathetic steve, you need to build a bridge and get over it lol.

Can you remember what boost he was running on the T4 i bought That was on his car...one with the mods but not the roller bearing core....?

To be fair, I think he was just saying the car had been checked over & given a clean bill of heath, so it has obviously developed a problem since then?

I think you have been drinking too much again

I only said it was the first time Doug had used the car after being set up.

I said nothing else.

Maybe the best T4 spec and map would be one of EPs? Lol

I hear they can gain serious power from even the best lol

I can't wait to get my T4 saff back up to MSD, the standard T4 has been replaced with a roller-bearing maram shafted unit, so I am hoping the claims of the roller bearings making it as responsive as a T34 are true

Slightly lowered cr, probably around 7.5:1 I like bd16/14 combo, stu likes bd16/15
Good spec head not mad on port sizes, 83s lots of boost and a good map

They work really well.

I'd still choose a T4 over almost any other YB turbo. I just love the way they make boost

Good cam choices obviously timing makes or breaks these engines making it aweful or IMO brilliant.

I'm with you james, t4s are awesome, I love the way they do business with the above spec

I find the 14 is a tricky exhaust cam to get right, but when they are timed in just right they work really well!
I think the 15 is a little easier to get good figures from

Do you find the same jimbo?

CR engineering do them, I bought mine from a guy in Ireland, as it also has a Maram shaft I might be forced to fit my mountune top hat bypass valve & ported throttle body

to be honest, dad and tim do all the timing but we see really good results with the 14, look at gav diamonds graph if he put it on his build thread. im sure thats a 14 on the exhaust

on the dyno it was pulling hard at 3500, gave 540bhp at 7500 and 510bhp at 8000 with a smooth flat torque curve. awesome engine, cant wait for it to be done so we can check the mapping in the car.

some people will look at the graph and say the torque is low, but everybody gets used to these rolling road figures with massive boost, gavs had 32psi everywhere
