Mk3 xr3i

Hi I've just bought a 83 mk3 xr3i some times the car starts then other times it doesn't when I turn the ignition on I can't hear the fuel pump kick in can anyone help plz

dodgy pink relay i rekon, under the dash on drivers you will see a load of relays, pink one is fuel pump relay and there renowned for going
