Default Fiesta stereo problem.. Any ideas?

Hi all!
Got a strange problem with a 08 plate fiesta.

Basically every time you turn the car on, it asks for the stereo code again, which is annoying!
Put the code in, and all is ok.. But it asks for the code again next time you turn it on!

The clock and everything keeps its time, so the +ve from the battery isn't being broken..

Any ideas?
Cheers! P

That's kind of what I was thinking, as it just started happening after being parked up for 2 days. Not being touched. Odd!

Permanent 12v feed fuse probably gone. These work on canbus I believe so the unit will switch on without the memory live using a 4v signal and ign 12v. The unit thinks it's beig removed everytime u take the key out.

Have you tried pulling the fuse out and letting it rest for around 10-15mins and putting the fuse back in?

Also you can try to disconnect the whole stereo and see if that helps...

Sounds like it either needs a complete reset by the above methods, or you have SOMEHOW got a wiring problem...make sure there are 2 lives going into the headunit if you can pull it out...one live and one ignition

Just had another look. Fuses seem ok.
But, if you put the code in, it's fine, then it'll be ok you can turn ignition on and off, lock the car etc, and it won't ask for the code..

But if you leave it more than 10mins or so, it'll want the code again!
