Default 215/35/18 tyre v versus pot holes

merry xmas and happy new year . Yeah right !. hit a pot hole other day shagged my wheel and tyre. £200 notes to straighten and weld cracked alloy. Its ridiculos!

I mean i thought my car looked decent st170 lowered 35mm with 18 inch wheels profile 35s. looks the nutz. however you cant drive anywhere fast incase of hitting pot holes, drain covers and even badly sucken or exposed cat eyes! fuck the low profiles and looking sweet im reverting back to 17s on 45s and actually drive the car how it should be driven .

does anyone else have this problem ? its quite annoying its handle superb on tarmac roads but the slightest bumps and your in danger of killing yourself!

you should come to stoke. anything lowered or on low profile tyres looks like a drunk is at the wheel as it swerves to avoid the moon craters in the roads. The council up here just doesnt give a fuck about the roads.

Roads are atrocious up here in dunfermline there's potholes everywhere. I regularly drive down to north east England and would say traveling down the a1 they get better the nearer you get to England!

You've obviously had it somewhere to get a quote for it to be repaired, If you get an engineers report saying that the damage was or most likely caused by the pothole in question and also get photo's of the pothole you have a good chance of getting compensation off them

£200 to repair and weld a wheel is a outrage give the boy a shake, you'd be able to buy a new rim for that and get some change

215 35 18 is the worst size tyre i've ever owned, they are ridiculous, ride is horrendous, i cracked a revolution with them and they just generally suck, hence i went to 205-40-18, although doesn;t sound much, made a massive difference to the car, and i havent destroyed a wheel recently.

Last years bad weather hammered the roads. Really bad around the rotherham/sheffield area.

I think everything should be taxed accordingly. I.e. road tax pays for roads/fuel tax pays for everything road related and nothing else, if there is money left over then reduce the tax. If not enough increase it.
