Default Steering 'Creaking' towards full lock?

Dosen't matter weather moving or stationary, towards either full lock theres a creak comming from the front end somehwere.

When I had one of the struts off one of the top mount bearings seemed a little stiff, how stiff should these be?

Anyone give any other suggestions to what it might be?
Sounds like an old door opening slowly.

Cheers, Bailes.

Why the rolleyes? Do you think the cv joint doesn't move when you turn the steering when stationary?

my first guess would be top mounts followed by antiroll bar drop links

Excuse the roll eyes... it was more of a thinking look around sorta thing

I just thought CV joints only made a noise on the move?

Also didn't think about drop links! They were cheap Q Drive ones from ECP about a 12 month ago, surley they shouldn't have gone by now?

I should really get the car jacked up and have a look. Got no idea how to diagnose top mounts though.
