Default Drove a 400hp mk2 focus rs the other day wow!!!!!

Took my mates mk2 focus rs for a spin the other day after he had it mapped down at Jamsport!! All I can say is what a car!!

Spec, full miltek decat sitech inlet pro alloy cooler k&n filter Jamsport 400hp map and injectors

After driving the focus rs in standard for I wasn't massively impressed it was great to drive just not that fast! I then drove my mates mountune 350hp car and that felt really sharp! But nothing in comparison to the 400hp Jamsport car it pulled really hard in every gear spinning right through third in the dry!! The only thing I noticed was the amount of wheel tramp through the car? But allround a top conversion !!

Any body else drove a similar setup??

I think usually a better torque link and stiffer springs usually sorts out the axel tramp issues

Is it not a bit pointless having that much power and front wheel drive?

Was just discussing getting mine up to 400bhp or getting rid for an RS4
I also looked at the JamSport 500bhp one for sale on ebay for 25k.

Decisions decisions???

Because, whilst the 400bhp focus is 'spinning through 3rd' you're disappearing into the sunset!

I had a fast ford mag where they tested a load of them (inc 400bhp one) and they seemed really slow on paper.

I've driven a std one and was pleasantly surprised how quick it was.

Saw a "400+" bhp Focus RS on the rollers which made 360bhp... had all the bits on it, std turbo though, I wouldn't have thought you'd get much more out of the std turbo but it would appear so!

I'm not a big fan of them I have to say, pricey beasts

i would love to see some dyno graph's of these 400+bhp RS's. Theres a few 450 kits and 400 kits barely making 380's on a heart breaker dyno... Which would why on paper they apper slow, as there not actually 400 odd bhp!

Most of them are prolly dyno dynamics runs, and may make close to 400 on a quick up/down zippy run, hold it for a few secs flat out and once air temps start to rise then I doubt they are close! - Call me skeptical/pesimist or just a realist

I was really impressed after i got my car back from Jamsports.. Just to add to the spec, its a 100 cell sports cat.. samco boost hoses, GGR rear torque link and H&R springs. It only really tramps in the dry id say.. but the re map has totally transformed the car.

It made 398 bhp with 480 ft lb of torque on the rollers and have the graph at home.

Mine should be 440 ho as i have all the bits to make that but i say 400 as its more realistic

Go get it on a dyno dynamics rollers and I think you will be surprisesed at the outcome! Still that's a shit load of torque you got! Must pull well!

400ish Focus will feel fast if you come from something slower, but its only as fast as its Power/weight. Compare it to one with 500 horses & it will feel like a slug on Diazapan. Cars only feel quick if you are used to cars with less Power.
It would be good to quote accleration figures etc. instead of words like fricking which mean nothing . One mans fast is anothers f**k me thats slow so lets have figures so we can see how fast it is.

AJC has a quick safe and a very quick escort to compare Rodders.

in the wet they are a bit shite though, even in the damp i was spinning in 5th the other day, in the dry though its a different story.
