My day at Beds and pic request!

My day at Beds and pic request!
Firstly, did anyone get any decent photos of my car on track?
If so, could you post them up pretty please?
Regarding the day, the track etiquette was pretty much spot on, which considering the amount of people who had never done a track day / been to Bedford, was excellent .
My only gripe was the crap gesticulation when the marshalls were black flagging people .
Obviously this is referring to my cone incident , which I'm really pissed off about . Dave had graciously let me pass him with some excellent use of his mirrors and slotted in behind me, but as we were approaching the little marshall post before the pit straight the guy in it was waving the black flag madly and point his finger at what I thought was me . Really pissed off at this, (as this was going to have been my second and last warning - despite the boost having been wound right down ), I glanced over my shoulder to see if he was pointing at me or Dave, missed the clip point and hit a cone square on which cracked the splitter .
I came off the power to coast round (so as not to upset them anymore), but approaching the next corner, the marshall was literally jumping up and down pointing and insisting that I pull in THERE and THEN . Obviously I wasn't very happy about that, as the car would have suddenly had huge heat-soak with no cool-down lap, and as I pulled in he turned his back on me and carried on gesticulating at Dave . It was at this point that I was both relieved and pissed off . Relieved as I hadn't been black flagged, but pissed off because I had allowed myself to lose concentration and damage the splitter, when they were unable to make it clear what car they were black flagging . I was lucky that it just destroyed the splitter, considering the cone nearly ended up in orbit .
I later took Gemma out and did get black flagged for a second time, but fortunately due to the fact that there were several white Escort Cossies there and that it was a different guy in the black flag box, I managed to blag my way out on the track again . By then I had to turn the boost down to 1.3 bar peak, holding 1-1.1 bar , which made it seem like the hand-brake was on . At least I managed to stay out though .
I then had a bit of a moment when I was slowly reeling Dave in on the back straight, and thought I would make up even more ground by being able to outbrake him. I waited until the absolute last minute and jumped on the brakes (Bill will know the feeling well ). When the speed wasn't coming off quite as quickly as I was expecting, I started to think that we weren't going to even make the corner (Gemma was in the car at the time ). Luckily the car slowed enough to get the car round and I thought it prudent to come in and check the brakes to discover that the fronts had got down to the metal .
Game over just after 4.00pm for me, so I parked the car up (as I couldn't be bothered to change the pads) and let Martin use the car to try a 9x18 Mo on for size. I also persuaded him that while he was taking the front wheel off, he might as well do the pads while he was at it AND while he was doing that to let me borrow the Metro (I bought him dinner though - but made it clear there was no way I was going to pay for his drinks bill ). I then proceeded to re-learn the track and had a dice with that yellow Porsche 964 for 3 laps, where he just could not make any in-roads on me . Eventually he gave up and pulled into the pits (much to my joy) and I came in gloating about it to the lads (as you do ), only to have Keith Brookes come over and over-hear me regailing my "conquest". He then sheepishly admitted that it was him driving the Porsche . Obviously he was having to be a little careful due to the owner sitting beside him, but it was still a good scalp none-the-less . . The Metro ROCKS .
The meal at the pub afterwards was ace as usual, Martin and Lee were as hammered as ever (Martin wanted to sleep ON TOP of the wardrobe ). It was nice to meet Clare, Craig, Lewis (again ), Keith and his boyfriend and abuse her breasts all night (which Martin couldn't keep his eyes off ) .
Looks as though the breasts, er I mean Clare will be coming to the 'Ring with us in May .
See you all next time....

Thats one of the few posts I have seen you make Mike without a in it. Can you edit it somewhere please
Sounds like the evening was better than the day
But running your cars on lower power just to satisfy some rules, you alll must be mad. So the marshal wanted you to stop on track Dave if I read it correct That is more dangerous than just letting the indicator fall out IMHO

NUTS RuS,
Yes Tony.
Don't think i would liked to have been hit by a flying indicator though.
Dave.

Mike, can you remember what advice you give to people who purchase carbon front bibs/splitters?

The blur was a special effect to show Mike slowing down from speed
<Norfolk Homer accent>
"Look, see how late I can brake and still not hit that.... DOH!!!!"
