Escort rs turbo 1988 BIG PROBLEMS HELP!
hi there i have owned my escort rs turbo for 6 months now and its started to have real trouble starting, if u dnt put ur foot on the accelerator it will not start if u put 2 much it wont start its got t be perfect, then eventualy wen it starts it runns realy lumpy and if left to idle just cuts out then same palarvar again to start it, but eventualy once its running and warm its abit better no lumpyness or anythjing, till you go to drive if u set off and boot it it holds back alot, but only occasionaly cuts out wen its hot, then again is a pain to start, it has just been serviced but still suffering from the same problems! so its starting problem ideling problem wen cold, then holding back, it like gets to 3krpm and the turbo cums in abit then at 4500 again it just feels like theres not alot of turbo, checked turbo that is fine, any HELP would be muchly appreciated thaks bob

It Wasnt Me!
Sounds like the warm up/fuel enrichment circuit isn't working for one reason or another....
I'd be weary of driving it hard/on boost as well as on boost fueling may also be affected.
either the fuel system hasn't got 12V, fuel ECU is knackered, A sensor (thermo time switch for instance) isn't working or another fault.
proceed to someone who know's what they are doing with RS Turbo's.
*edit* jus't realised you're from Spain.
take plug off black switch on the right hand side of the throtle, get volt meter, place negative to chassis or battery negative terminal and positive side of meter onto one of the two end pins on the plug, I forget which one but one of the end pins should have 12V when ignition is on/car is running. if it does not, then check the heated seat fuse in the fuse box to make sure it is there and not blown (I know the car doesnt have heated seats but it has a slot on the fuse box (indicated on the lid with a heated seat picture) which is the fuse for the electronic part of the fuel system's power). If all this checks out ok and you still don't have power, then come back and we'll try to further assist

have you been doing any work in the engine bay? maybe an air leak messing up the fueling??
My old S1 started and ran fine, i did some work in the bay and then suddenyl got the same issues, hard to start unless the pedal was half depressed, rought idling and cutting out until warm, then holding back on boost, iirc it was a seal on the air flow meter unit.
Would be worth checking there are no leaks and all pipes/hoses are in good order.
