the pump will be at bottom of boiler and will probley be warm if its trying to spin and cant if so just tap it and you will here it start to spin,
that might be in the bottom part then, havent took the casing off that, but sounds like the fan is fooked.

it only clicks the once, its not the fan clicking but the little round thing with Honeywell written on it.

Right mate

By the sounds of it i would say its the fan.

Get the boiler make and model and if there is a parts service place in the back of the handbook you could get one from there. VERY easy to fit mate

theres some on the shed

if ya got a coal fire why do ya need a boiler, cant ya just stick a tub near the fire and bath that way, thats what all the northerners do

well when they get back from the pits anyway

old log scree saver is a better idea, more warm and welcoming

i would prob round to help but its tooooo warm in here , brb, im off to open a window

Just back are you sure its the fan, have you checked the pump mate as some boilers have a flow switch to sence the pump working and with out the pump the fan wont start any way, if you have the book at the back will be a fault finding chart what does it say, also see if it says anythink about a high limit stat as if its poped out it wont work, fans dont usally just stop working they normally make a nasty noise for a few weeks first and as you have had a pressure problem in your boiler when you got back it points me to look at pump / fault auto air vent not venting boiler or if boiler tryed to fire up with no pressure / water in it, it could have poped the high limit stat,

hoped we have helped a bit me and tiff but some times you just need to be standing in front of the thing to sort out the problem, i didnt want you to go pokeing about to much as you could make it worse or hurt your self as you have found out be carfull and if unsure about you ablitty leave alone it could be in your best interrest.

thanks for that Dunc, i have to say its never made any noises and it would have tried to fire up with virtually no pressure in the system so the high limit stat could have popped, the leccy shock was just a little one and my fault as i forgot to turn it off before prodding around

i think as long as its off at the mains i wont be able to do too much harm.
where would i find the limit stat? got to be worth checking everything first as ill end
up buying a new fan and might not need it.

couldnt see anything on top of the boiler, but then i may be looking in the wrong place as im unsure where the pressure switch is, if you mean the little tap to fill it back up again thats at the bottom

dont think i should prod around in there too much luckily if i cant get it all back together i can just close the cupboard door and i wont see it

RS cat by that picture it looks like the overheat stat is bottom left its a little pink/red thing with 2 yellow wires going to it,on the side facing the floor there should be a button, see if you can press this in...... if not Get an engineer in cos if your boiler has run dry(no pressure) it could be something really stupid like dunc says you could be wasting money buying parts it doesnt need
