Default fitting st170 engine mk3 escort

hello im watching a st170 running gear on the bay, and need to know will it bolt up like a zetec with modding the cvh manifold,

because it mounts different in the focus, so wondering if the bolt holes are the same in the block as a zetec.

thanks

It'll bolt in the same as a blacktop zetec (same block), exhaust port spacing is the same as a cvh, but the inlet is unique to the ST, so use the std st170 inlet or make a custom one

Ok looking to just use full at running gear the just use the cvh flywheel and clutch

Does that mean I can mod the cvh mount to fit like a zetec, or will I have to weld a new mount point

My brother has fitted an ST170 motor in his missus Mk6 Escort GTi and if I said it wasn't straight forward it would be an understatement. That was swapping from a silvertop Zetec. Loads of people advised it would be a piece of piss but we had to have a number of bespoke parts made for it to go in and work properly

Box will mate straight up as we reused the IB5 from the GTi with no issues. Mind you we're not expecting it to last all that long once the throttle bodies are fitted.

Are you planning on using the VVT or dumping it off and dialing the cam in manually?
