who to do some electrical work on my escos..??? UPDATE!!
car has died,
has ignition and fuel pump feed
i think its the ecu or fusebox?
who is good at electrics on these that can come over for a job
i pay well!
f*king car!

not to 3am Matt, i'd just got in with the car on the back of a low loader!
on cranking the car, there was no power to the injectors or the chg temp sensor so im guessing all sensors
secs monitor shut down as well
and i need the fuel pump wired up so it primes and then switches off on the ignition click of the barrell
its priming constantly at the mo

On the Escort it takes it's power feeds from one common soldered joint... VS-1229....but I can't locate this joint in the diagram....I am still looking...

just checked it
speak to cossymad abut the coilovers, he specced mine so can do the same as yours
and the ride quality on soft is no harsher than my old koni's

Dave,
Fuse 3 feeds the ECU, injectors and varius sensors and valves.
Relay 8 is the power relay for the management system.
Fuse 25 feeds the fuel pump and also feeds fuse 3...
If the ECU has lost its earth then the management relay won't work....

right, UPDATE
pin 20 is only getting 8v!
i fed a feed direct from the battery to the pin, voltage 12.18v started the car and
she burst in to life
so that narrows it down to that cheers all
now... why is the ECU feed low on voltage?
where does it feed to?
its a blue cable with a yellow stripe

Dave,
I hav'nt read the whole post...
BUT it is very important that you check the two multi-plugs on the main engine loom........these are situated near the righthand side inner wing near the coil.
If you take the connectors apart, you may well see corrosion/grey/green residue on some (or most) of the pins.
The remedy (temp) is to clean all of the pins......Better still for the long term, is to do as Steve C and others have done - replace the multi-plugs by direct wiring/sleeves

Doug et Ryan
The car has had the multiplugs removed and joints soldered as a means of course years ago.
Why on earth would the power feed to the ecu be reduced to 8v???
Looks like dash out to trace the wire back.
couldnt i just rewire a feed to the ecu? is it ignition based or perm?
im guessing the ecu retains memory so it will need a perm feed all the time.. but this activates the fuel pump etc...
what voltage is PIN 20 with ign off?
