Default Seat Leon

Currently being very tempted in trading in my 2002 mk1.5 Focus for a Seat Leon.

It's a 2010 '59' plate. 125bhp 1.4 TSI Sport model with virtually every gizmo on it

appreciate we are all Ford nuts, but was wondering if anyone had any knowledge of the Leon and knows of any major niggles or things to look out for with this particular engine
I know its basically a VW Golf in a sharper suit, on the face of it it looks like a decent package. Just not too sure on the engine size......

anyone owned one or has family/friends that have got one?

Also looking at a 3 door Focus 1.6 zetec-S on a 59 plate as well for the sme price £8891

stick with what I know..Ford, or twist

IIRC is that not circa 160HP? TSI is a compound charged engine, if you diden't know.

The Focus your looking at has just the same engine as what you already have and at the very best you will gain 15HP, if it's the "TI-VCT" varient.

Very poor trim and feel dead cheap inside the Leon once the newness has worn off, not a patch on the Leons of a few years ago in terms of build quality altho the mechanicals will be fine.

Thanks for the replies so far guy's.

Marty - no didnt know it's a compound charged engine.
Its deffo 125bhp, not 160bhp. the advert for the car say's 125Bhp and ive checked the seat website and that say's that particular model is 125Bhp.

id there anything untoward about compound charged engines?...too highly stressed/tuned? and therefore dont last as long

Czech Mate.

Yeah i did think the interior is a bit bland and the dashboard looks like its been carved out of one block of cheap plastic.
Its not a patch on the relative style of the mk1 focus dash.

even the mK4? focus looks a nicer place to sit and the dash has a more 'quality' feel.

i think its the amount of 'standard' kit on this model Leon that makes you go 'ooohhh'

auto lights/wipers, cruise control, rear parking sensors, on board computer with service indicator sytem, tyre pressure monitoring system, the list goes on..

hmmm need to think before jumping in with both feet!!!

Yes I did mean the leon. It's pretty stacked with kit.

I'm a Seat convert. Had a 58 plate Leon Cupra K1, was a lovely car to look at, sit in and drive. Never experienced a feeling of a lower quality finish or appearance at all. Currently have a 1.4TSI Ibiza with 7 speed DSG, lovely car overall.

I've no complaints RE: Seat at all.

It defo has more power than that in the Golf, detuned I guess.

Yes TSI= Turbo, Supercharged, Injection, I can't comment on the reliability as never had such an engine.
