Default One for you engine experts!!!!

Ive been offered a Fiesta Frenzy (Ian Howell) engine and am very tempted to go for it in my XR2. Thing is at present, the engine waiting to go in is a fairly high spec anyway.

Out of the 2 specs, what am i better off with and why....?

Current one:

1650 CVH
4x4 cossie T3 with larger zorst housing
Fully balanced and blueprinted
Blydenstein gas-flowed cylinder head with silicon valve stems
Low compression pistons (7.0:1 CR)
Escort Cossie Group A cone filter/trumpet
Spec-R oil breather system
Ahmed Bayjoo Phase2 conversion running 1 bar boost
Bosch yellow fuel injectors
Ahmed Bayjoo turbo cam
IB5 RS1800 Fiesta 5-speed gearbox
AP Racing clutch with uprated road/rally cover plate
Custom Pace polished chargecooler system with two cooling radiators and boot mounted two gallon water reservoir
Pace polished alloy radiator

Was powered at 210hp with the old T2 so not sure what power will be with a T3 fitted.

Heres the potential new engine:

1.8 16V TwinCam Zetec Turbo engine with:-
Cossie T3 with bigger zorst housing
Low compression Arias forged pistons,
Shot peened conrods,
Ported & flowed head with 3 angle valves & Piper valve springs,
Competition Kent cam belt,
Escort Cosworth Grp'N fuel pump
IB5 RS1800 Fiesta 5-speed gearbox
AP Racing clutch with uprated road/rally cover plate
EFi XR3i inlet manifold modified to fit Zetec head, or RS1800 Inlet (both included)
Larger flow Bosch Red Top 310cc injectors,
Modified CVH EFi XR3i flywheel to fit Zetec engine,
Fiesta RS Turbo matching ECU & MAP Sensor,
Fiesta RS Turbo 165 Superchip,
4x4 cossie T3 Turbo with larger zorst housing
Garrett -31 Actuator,
Group A Cosworth K&N
K&N oil breather filter,
GRS Intercooler,
Kenlowe radiator fan,
Ally oil separator tank,
Bailey Swirl Pot

Apparantly RR'd at 221 with a standard S1 T3 but started to lift off of the rollers. Apparantly got 267 on another day but i'd say thats a bit dubious!

Am I right in thinking that the 16valver will potentially give me more power? (know fook all about this stuff!! )

Its going into a stripped out mk2 XR2.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers
Fozzy

depends what power your aiming for. if you stick to the specs you have listed i would stick with the cvh, with the t3 you will probably see more power than the zetec is currently producing.if you run too much more power your gonna need new gearboxes with either IMO. if it were me i'd save me wedge but each to their own

the 1.8 has got more potential as the spec list is higher, i would personally rather have the cvh as thats wot i prefer, why didnt they just build that engine in 2litre spec instead of poncing about with a 1.8.
standard 2litre zetec heads can flow more air then a modded cvh, dnt no if its any different for a 1.8

To me the injectors sound really really small on both of them and will be very soon the limiting factor. Actually both engine specs sound like they were built for high boost, pointless IMO to have a low comp engine with only 1 bar boost.
