Depends Melv. Plasterers are getting like plumbers. Think of a number and multiply by the number you have hit in the dartboard

10ft x 10ft Room

Wall 1 - Red Brick with some Thermal Block.
Wall 2 - Thermal Block some Painted White (PMSL)
Wall 3 - Thermal Block with a 1600 Patio Door
Wall 4 - Thermal Block with a 1600 Square Archway
Ceiling - Brand New 12mm Sheet

At the top of walls 2 and 3 is a BIG concrete Lintel that would need a bit of packing out (poss 2-3" at worst)

Would you Fill and Render the room, then Plaster it? Or would you 'Dot & Dab' it with Board, then Plaster it? Or would you do it with Hardwall, then Plaster it??

Also, how much do you think it would cost for a PUKKA job?

Christian most plasterers will try and talk you into dot and dab. Its the in thing at the mo. Most big house builders use it. We think its shite and still bond and skim. I wouldnt have any dot and dab in my house.

Hard to say a price....like i say they are varying quite a bit at the moment. Get 3 quotes

Two tips ..

Find a good plasterer by word-of-mouth
Find one free when he's finished other work in the afernoon .. He will do you a cash job ... It will be good.

He will need to look first, tho.

Could cost you a onner up to maybe 120, depending on how easy the job.

OK, we have a Plasterer that so far has been excellent. His work is Top notch. So far he has been charging us around Ł250 for a 13ft Room, normally some bonding involved, but he does a day/day-and-a-half for that. That price is with us supplying materials. Some people say thats quite expensive, but to be honest, we have had enought shit plasterers to make me happy to pay that just to get someone we trust.

However, he has just quoted me Ł450 Labour to Dot & Dab/Plaster that room and Ł500 to Render/Plaster it. I nearly shat myself.

Its a nightmare, because now we are back to square one again, with having to look for a plasterer that will hopefully do a good job and not steal our belongings.
