Do you need to change timing chains?
Im led to believe my 2.0L granny uses a timing chain rather than a timing belt. Do these need to be changed on regular intervals?

there should be no need to change a timing chain unless it's very noisy ie the tensioners worn or whilst you're stripping an engine, you check for wear and if it is, change it whilst stripped down.
You can check the wear on the chain, but my old mans dictating this to me and I'm losing interest

It's often good to change the tensioner after 100k or so, and the chain pretty much asap when it gets noisy.
Probably worth looking on the Ford Sierra Owners Club forum (as most of the members drive 2.0 twin cams)
