RS's wanted for Funeral :-( (10/03/05)
Last night at our club meet we had a guy (Stuart) stand up and tell us about an EscCos owner who died recently.
The details I know (Stuart was really quite cut up about it) are that the guy was walking home on Valentines night with his girlfriend and a drunk driver mounted the kerb behind them and ran them down. He died Tuesday, and she is still in hospital.
The guy is in this months Fast Ford on our rolling road day feature - Curtis Piper.
Stuart had wanted to have a showing of RS's (or probably any other Fords for that matter) at the funeral - from what I understand this had come from Curtis's family.
I (and a few others from our group) hope to be just showing up with the car, but just waiting outside as I only really knew Curtis in passing.
Anyone else who could show up would be most appreciated.
Likely to be about a week away, either myself or Lewis (b19-trb)will let you know if we hear any more.

lets not turn this thread into a tirade about drunk drivers, im sure we ALL feel the same about that.
Lets just leave it for people to pay their respects and offer to turn up.
Deepest condolences to his family, such a tragic waste.

That is extremely upsetting to hear, as it just makes you realise how precious life, love and family truly are. My heart goes out to all his friends and family . I can't even begin to comprehend how they must be feeling .
I hope that people that DO drink and drive read this thread and take note at what can happen and stop doing it .
