Default S2 Engine/Tuning Advice

Right, I've just landed a job that comes with a company car...

If all things go well with this and I feel secure in it then I'll be selling my Impreza that I use as a daily driver..

I will use some/most of the money from that to upgrade/fix my S2 that I have kind of neglected in the last 6 months.

Current Spec is:

Brand New Engine 14k ago
K&N Panel Filter
Half Magnex/Half 'Scrap'ion Exhaust
Piper 285 T2 Cam
GRS EVO 3 Intercooler
Turbosystems Stage 1 Chip
Helix Organic Clutch
Rebuilt Gearbox 4k ago

Was rolling roaded at 167bhp @ wheels before I fitted Piper 285 Cam.... After that I took the car off the road (SORN) and it has sat in the garage being run once a fortnight, however, for the past 3-4 months it hasnt been started.

What I would like, would be at least 200bhp @ wheels.

I have an idea what parts I will need, but if you guys could give me a hand with anything I miss out or if there are other options that would be better for the car, and some help with what sort of prices things will cost then that would be great.

Stage 3 Head
EFi Conversion
Hybrid Turbo
3" Mongoose Exhaust
AVA Manifold
Water Injection
Cossie Brakes or Hi-Spec Brakes?
Oil Temp/Oil Pressure/Boost Gauges
Can I fit an Air Fuel Gauge easily enough to an S2?

What sort of management should I change to, or will the standard stuff with the Turbosystems Chip be enough??

Also the car manages to destroy batteries on a monthly basis.. Kills them, when dead and charged from another car, as soon as you turn car off...... try to restart it and it wont do a thing, absolutely nothing?!?

Thanks alot for reading this essay!!!

Cheers,
Grant

you won't necessarily need to go efi , i would say with a stage 3 head ,
probably a stage 2 hybrid t3 , decent exhaust and filter and about 18-20 psi you would see about 200bhp. i have hi spec brakes on mine and they are very good.

Bollox, I have a feeling that could be the Clifford Alarm that got fucked up every time it rained as the water run thru the bonnet vents and straight into the alarm unit, but if its not that.. it will take ages to find the reason wouldnt it??!

True, but was wanting to get proper chatter.. and heard that the only way was with EFi. Also, someone told me that if I want to run a Electronic Boost Controller (Blitz ID3) then I'll need EFi for that.

Cheers mate, would prefer to use them rather than Cossie stoppers as heard mixed report about them.. Will be ditching my ABS as well, any ideas how much a Hi-Spec Brake Kit will cost, any web links??

what is the alarm unit doing under a bonnet vent

battery drains are nightmare to find on cars like this sometimes, usually an interior/boot light stays on

The alarm was fitted before I bought the car.... Dont know why it was fitted under a bonnet vent, guess the monkeys saw a space and decided to put it there!!

It now has a tupperware cover over it, lol, its stopped water running onto the unit when washing the car.. however not had car out long enough to test to see if it will melt.

I'll have a word with a few mates and see if there is a reliable auto-electrician locally that could look into the drain for me, as I dont have the time or patience to test every small thing..

dont you think that EFI costing around the Ł1500/Ł2000(cossie) is expensive just for a sound?!

waste of money unless you intend to go alot further with the engine imho!!

Grant, your battery problem is because u dont USE your car, the battery WONT charge fully below 3.5Krpm, charging the battery multiple times will fook it and it prob wont take a charge now, stop whining, buy a new one and use the car

Dave.... Ok, I'll get another one, I should get it free as the current one was only replaced about 6 months ago after it became totally flat....... same as the 2 before it!!

I will get out and use it, but want to use it when it has 210-220bhp which I am trying to get by building it up using money that I get from selling my Impreza.. hence the reason for the thread!!!!
