Default Why are 44mm wastegates so expensive?

As titled. I'm buying all the bits I need for my CGI block build and just been pricing up an external wastegate. Why are 44mm ones so costly, all others, bigger and smaller are much cheaper.

I'd say its a safe bet a 60mm wastegage is more expensive than a 44mm. But of course it will depend on brand, quality, fitments etc.

Or you could just opt for a smaller one.

Ive been looking at Tial ones and I can't see a connection between price. I can find a 50mm one for 190 but 44mm are around 300, why? My engine builder swears by 44mm ones.

If you think you've found a Tial 50mm Wastegate for that price, I'd say you are quite mistaken.

A BOV is not a wastegate.

How much power are you expecting, what turbo ? engine size ?

A 44mm would work fine. But TBH even a 38 would work fine.

A friends car is running a turbo similar to a GT35, 2.3 making around 600bhp and has perfect boost control with a 38mm from as low as 1 bar to over 2 bar.

Oh ok. Are there any other trusted makes other than Tial?

Thanks for letting me know you're now not buying all the stuff you asked me to dismantle from my engine and reserve for you.

I love nothing more than spending time stripping things apart to let them sit for 6 months to then find out that despite all the promises you're not buying them...

Thank you to the others who've PM'd me about problems they've had dealing with jonfoc.

Wish i'd had them before I spent a day dismantling my engine in good faith to sell all the parts he'd begged me for
