My mates 1.3 engine P Reg fiesta shit its self big time the other day just trying to figure out possible causes seen as the cars already gone to scrapyard. Shame really only done 61k and my aunty had it for about 10 years as well only did about 1500 a year in it to work and back so really short journeys.

all the rods ive thrown in engines were due to not enough oil in the engine or an oil blockage, all i can say is have a look at the crank if its scored up badly then you have a good indication that oil wasnt getting where it needed to

Or shagged big end bearings. Or to much boost ( not in your application. )

Don't go in his car often but he drives likes a twat he int your typical chav but he did boast about hitting 100 a few times going down motorway so I know that won't have helped.

My guess is your aunty drove it like a granny for 10 years so it was used to gentle life then couldnt handle the abuse of a young lad hence it went bang.

That's what I thought I wanted it as a project shell completely rust free but it's gone already apparently a lad at work got an engine and gearbox for 70quid but my mate is a moron
