Any Focus guru's on here know what might be wrong with my mates 2009 Focus 1.6 Diesel GTEC.
When he starts it up from cold in the morning it smokes and the tick over is lumpy. When it warms up it cleares up.
Been to local Ford dealer, they had the car for 8 weeks, yes 8 weeks and cant find the problem.
should say they have acknowledged there is a problem but cant find it.

Anyone had this problem.

I take it its the peugoet engine?Im sure there is a problem with the engine wiring looms.

 

Hi Glen, yes it is the Peugeot engine.
Ford even sent an engineer out who changed injectors, ecu, sensors etc etc etc but couldn't find the problem. Mind you my mate said he actually saw the guy and wondered if he had even started shaving as he looked so young. He only used the Lap Top and couldn't come up with any answers
Its fine once warmed up, but from cold has a slight misfire and smokes unburnt Diesel
