Default Fitting Dash2- stopping ford ECU checking on start up

Hi

This one is probably more for the ford ECU gurus or electricians on here - I am fitting a dash2 display this weekend and i want to bypass the ford CANBUS system in the fiesta ST so that the ECU does not check that the dash cluster is there when starting the car as currently the car wont start with the Dash2 on it due to this.

I have got a omex 600 for the engine but have kept the normal ford ECU for all the other areas.

Any ideas guys? My idea is to fit a Ohm resister which I did with the airbags previously but i am not sure if it is applicable here and am a wiring noob lol

Thanks, Si

a resistor wont work because the canbus sends a digital message. Might be easier to rip it all out to be fair.

Just seperate the PCB from the dash removing all the plastic ...be brutal then hide the PCB behind the dash connected to the ecu.
Chuck it inside a suitable plastic box to protect it. Job jobbed !
