Reputedly 600 bhp, but over 1000lbs ft torque.
We didn't want to take any risks with that elderly engine, and just did the basics of setting it up to run smoothly.
Interesting statistic concerns the revs, which hits 1000 rpm at 72 mph in top gear!
Note the Lancaster bomber mag switches. Firing it up is an experience in itself. Driving it is unforgettable.

The car is built by hand at Bob Peterson's in Devon and is amazingly well engineered. All the important little bits are carved from stainless billets, and are a complete work of art.

Stock 2.0 STi new age engines are pretty durable, we've set up a number over the years running over 450 bhp no bother at all.
The 2.1 stroker gives better torque and spool and we always advise going there if starting fresh.
We've built a decent number of Evo strokers as well, giving great results.

As nobody has complained about me going off topic.
How about this one?
Aston Martin DB4GT. Ł350,000. My insurance man would worry!
Seriously cool car, drove perfectly, amazing noises.

I was there when you were tweaking the lime green charger, before a CSW RR day. Im pretty sure hammond was there too, or atleast someone who looked like him? I didnt really recognise him, so didnt get to meet him.
That DB4 is amazing!

It looked like this to start with!
Better when we'd finished it.
And with a 1936 Buick straight 8 rally car. The Buick did the Inca Trail rally, down through the spine of South America to Punta Arenas. We regularly tune cars like this for a local client.

As for the gearbox's, the 6 speed in the same newage STI's are almost indestructible, Im pretty sure Duncan from Racedynamix runs 780 on the stock STI 6 speed.

I am so jelous! You easily have one of the best jobs in the world, I really really want to be a tuner/engine buider type person, don't care about money, I'd work for minimum wage, just working with stuff like that, I'd be in heaven.

Something different! - Cooper Climax T43 Grand Prix car.
Driven by Innes Ireland amongst others for the Tommy Sopwith team in 1957. Now owned and raced by Tania Pilkington.
A rare pleasure to sit in something with this much history!

Occasionally we get the opportunity to get involved with a really nice project, when we can put our experience to good use.
This Ultima was very well put together by the owner, but needed final tweaking for all the settings, and work on the brakes, clutch operation, that sort of thing. We redesigned the clutch hydraulics, as the original set up needed Mike Tyson to work it. We ran it through the first start and warm up. The car ran well for a while, but it became clear that the crate motor he'd bought wasn't up to it.
He passed the car on to us, and we built him a 383 stroker version of the Chevy small block. Using Keith Black pistons, Edelbrock heads cam and carb and an MSD ignition set up we ended up with 385 bhp and 425 lbs ft at 2500 rpm, plenty enough to move that one up the road, and sounding sweet.
