how much would this car be worth nowadays, is it still mint condition? does anyone know how the new owner got his hands onit and how much he paid?

It was at FordFair a couple of years ago. The number plate was changed for another and the grill swapped for a proper S1 grill (her car had a 3i slatted grill). The extra aerial was also removed.
As for what it's worth, who knows. Somebody somewhere I'm sure would pay a fortune. But it's worth as much as somebody is willing to pay. Heard rumours bandied about of Ł12k

The guy who owns it now, bought it from the women that won it on Kiss FM, it sits most of the time in a carcoon, with air constantly passing over it. The car is still in 100% pristine condition, with 30,000 miles on the clock.
As for price, like has been said, would get most money from some daft american buying up anything royal or Diana related!!
For RS people, the car is only worth what any 30,000mile S1 is worth, regardless of its colour or heritage. I mean would anyone seriuosly pay over Ł9,000 for an old Mk3 escort
do own a S1 but FFS, anyone willing to pay over that!!!!!

i was thinking about car the other day, wondering what happened to it,,
as for price, really its priceless, how can people say its not worth 10 grand??
i wouldn't value it as a series 1 escort turbo, i would value it as Di's old car, thus
making it worth what ever someone wants to pay for it.
rich folk with car collections have cars worth millions of pounds each. it would make a tidy addition to someones collection, & no one else would have one.

i wouldnt be surprised if it fetched over 20k+ easily, with such low milage, the condition and most of all it was di's car, just look what stupid folk pay for the likes of a eg... beckam signed top or something,

Yeah the car was black from the factory. Hopefully jeff will come on and give us more info about the car. Id like to know what mileage is on it. as id like to know too. His car is never out either.

Jeff is hardly ever on line to reply to threads on his car . Last time i saw it was when parked in front of my RS2000 at last years central day on the Cambridge RSOC stand where it got proper rained on !

I beleive (although not 100%) that Ford themselves have authenticated the car from the VIN number. This could just be the rumour mill working overtime though

Moza, knows the score with Most S1's as he has checked the history on most, even mine, the plaque in the window on Di's car was changed,as it said 1 of only 5 black S1's made, there is only 1 S1 not Five.
