Default Cheapest way to get alloy's from USA?

looking at buying some rims from the US.

I can get them sent to my uncle in florida, so that he can send them as a gift hopefully bypassing customs TAX? correct me if wrong...

there 15x7j and weigh 4.3kg's a piece

so looking at maybe 25kg's all in.

what's the cheapest way of getting them posted to the UK?

buying them over there and getting them posted still works out cheaper than buying them here. there £900 a set here, $880 there which works out at £495. the company says they can post for £212 which makes £717 so still cheaper but im wondering if i can get them brought over for even less.

would like inssurance but not essential

any guy's done this before?

the way i did it was to contact someone importing cars from america, and get them to stick them in one of the cars for a small fee, even with the duty and vat, it still only cost me 135 quid to get them to the uk, so find someone local thats importing

Usual courier companies like DHL or UPS may be ok or try the US Postal Service. If all too dear look into the shared container companies. Or perhaps speak to some car importers and ask if you can sling them in a container with a car they are shipping over?

lets examine this comment!

1.

I'll be buying them with my bonus in november

2.
brakes first you've got wheels
If you knew anything about vauxhall fitments, you would know that any decent brake setup wont fit under 14x5" GTE 3 spoke alloys. And that even for a minimum of 288mm disc's with vectra calipers, I would need a 15" rim. Why do i need a brake upgrade right this instant when im still running a standard 1.0 with 45bhp?

3.
do you see me throwing money away on wheels
thats because you keep throwing money away on tatty fords with tappety engines and ripped recaro's

THANK YOU, AND GOODNIGHT

JOSH
