Fair play to him i say, its his car, he wants to use it everyday and get his money out of it, why not. to many people buy them and they live a life of luxury and sleep on a bed of feathers, hardly seeing daylight.
Im sure giving it a quick rebuild and a coat of paint wouldnt cost the earth, and he would still have a car worth very good money, that even after a rebuild and paint, he would still make money on what its worth now.

allthough mine is not that dirty (nor a gen 500 JUST lol a 3 door) i also use mine daily and wouldnt have it any other way, i bought the car off a guy who wouldnt even take it out in the rain and had only covered 300 odd miles in 3 years, within a month of owning it, i was out drifting in the snow and plan to do the same this year also, the beauty is its painted body colour underneath (white) so is very easy to spot any problems starting to form from everyday use and catch them early
i say fair play to the guy and if it was my car i would do the same allthough i would wash it more regularly lol

i dont condone car theft but it wouldnt be a bad thing if it was stolen, detailed and then parked outside a police station
thing is though the owner would probably not recognise it lol

What makes me laugh in this thread.
Peeps saying yeah good on him for using his rs500 daily etc, that's how they should be treated. But yet, when was there car on the road last. At least 4 people that I've seen say it have there car in a garage tucked away
I couldn't use a rs500 daily. It'd cos to bloody much

Imo there should be a comprimise with a car like a 500. Yes it needs to be driven but yes it is a piece of automotive history and a bit more care should be taken. I think there's a fine line between storing a car and using it as. I think its a shame to see a 500look like that. Perhaps he has an idea to race it while he can then restore it after maybe.

Most of the "mint" rs500's are rotten under the bodykit anyway.
Paul (rs500/364 on here) uses his RS500 daily and does loads of miles in it.
No reason not to really, nothing specific about the 500 that makes it any worse as a daily than any other sierra other than its value and if maintained and cared for properly they should take it in their stride, its a high miles capable repmobile with a few tuning bits on it ultimately.

FFS. its a car, cars get used. not mothballed and treated like a baby! i used my Focus RS as a van for work for 3 mths! as thats all i had. sure it killed me on fuel, but i got to jobs quick. i have had a compressor in the back, plasterboard, mdf, tools, rubbish. even done a metal run in it!! only a car!!
