Default Rod, another one for your book

Dojj scanned that in for us, its in redline this month.

Cant beleive the number of errors they managed to make about my car considering its my staff car for Total Vauxhall mag and the redline guys sit about 8 foot from the Total Vauxhall editor
They made up a new surname for me and made it a 2.3 instead of a 2.0, and feck knows why they used a picture of it totally fucked when they could have used something like this

Proper shonky bit of journalism, lol

It did it in flames, the boost lifted the fuel rail on the jenvey throttle bodies I was using

Still got into the 12s though despite only having boost for half the run before the fire went through the boost control wiring.

Should think 11s would be more representative of the actual performance of it on the road, will have to take it back for another go at some point but pod's a bit of a mission from mine with a trailer etc.

It was 12 seconds at 98mph IIRC which shows how quick it was on the first half and how slow on the second, as most people doing 12s are doing 110+

At the 330ft mark I was .25 seconds quicker than specky was on his best run that day which was an 11.3

And the launch was nowhere near as good then as it will be now as I have totally re-engineered the rear suspension now and it has definately got more grip off the line now than it had then.

11s really shouldnt be difficult at all, will run it at either central day or PVS in 2012 hopefully if ive got time off work etc

Edit: Forgot to say, love the nova Chip, a real home brew special nutty car.

they probably threw together a number of cars that fitted the bill, and the sequencing of them was just down to randomness rather than the actual car

in any case, the new mag dropped through the door this morning and the cover car has 1293 brake

Its Reylandline Martin surely you got to choose the order . If they dont contact me to get true facts I take all these articles with a pinch of salt . Still i heartily agree that mine is "One of the most impressive giantkillers ever built" .

Taunton in somerset mate, so a fair way.

Only ever go there for the performance vauxhall day normally, as its 4 or 5 hours trailering each way just to drive my car in a straight line for a quarter of a mile, which doesnt seem worth the effort TBH when instead I can go to castle combe for the day and its 1/3rd of the distance!

Really enjoyed redline this month some good articles. Remember the regal nova, never seemed to perform but pretty mad all the same! But what's the go kart wheels about on the wheelie bar? Surely it wouldn't lift the front wheels off the ground with an engine in either end?

Even FWD cars can benefit from a wheelie bar to prevent weight transfer, it effectively lengthens the wheelbase

The front ones were wound down, the rear ones werent in though, I leave them out a lot of the time as it aids cooling and is easier to work on it.

I love the little bits of smoke under the tyres as its laying it down.
And of course NO smoke out of the exhaust despite being massively under load, unlike the picture redline used where it stank the world out just idling due to a corroded head gasket
