hi my mk1 frs fan has just today started staying on all the time from cold.

any ideas as to why its doing this?

also when coming to a stop car trys cuting out and rpm is dropping to 5-6k.

any help would be brilliant

Sounds like it could be a short in the wiring or more likely the cooling fan senser has failed, if your car has a separate cooling fan sensor switch or does the ecu control it?

Most focus rs's do mate i can leave mine for 2-3 days and when I start it up the fans come on right away

they will come on with the air conditioning if you have it switched on

i have noticed tha it does come on every so ofen on start up but always then goes off.

the prolem is it stays on the whole time the cars running. temps are around 97c so could poss be fan sensor?

If you got you air vents position facing on the screen the aircon comes on straight away so fan will be in.

+1. If the fan setting inside is set to windscreen then the air con will also turn on.
