the trick to buying a BMW is to buy on condition not mileage. people always bleat on about i want one with sub 60k miles...blah blah

you get good ones at 120k plus and some real sh!tters overpriced as they have 55k.

you need to get out and have a look at whats out there i believe. most bmw's will do 200k easy with regular servicing.

Yea I`m after a 2003 but all the ones I seem to find are way over budjet and I seem to find the prices vary wildly. I`ve looked at PH and they seem expensive. Being in Ireland doesnt help as over the water seems cheaper.

Nice one, already taken the number of the first one as I like the look of it, was hoping to get a manual with the six speed gearbox. Cheers!

As ahs already been said, if you're looking for a good one, ignore the milage if it's been well serviced, these engines are pretty much bomb proof if looked after and have a couple of small parts changed to ensure reliability (swirl flaps delete and vortex breather mod).

If you end up looking for a touring, then take special note to where the rear subframe attaches to the chassis (4 bolts) as on the touring there was a small design fault and the metalwork isn't strong enough around the mounting points and these have been known to tear away from the rest of the chassis BMW didn't recall it as a problem but if you took your car to a dealership and it was under 10 years old at the time of the fault then it was rectified for free by replacing the fatigued metal and adding strengthening plates too
