Default Engine block paint

Hi all,

Just a quick question, a friend of mine is painting her engine block what sort of paint do you use please as it needs to be heat resistant.

is it amarit(spelling)

I just used Hammarite on the block.

Used Halfords manifold paint on the turbo and it still aint come off, very good stuff

did u both mean hammerite? its oil based so it a good paint to use on engines, if your not using it on the exhaust manifold or turbo then it should be ok, it may discolour after a while though.

Hammerite goes soft at 90 degrees C

yes I did ring and ask them for that info LOL
