Default Strange noise, Ford 2.5 V6

Yet another problem has developed with this heap of shit.

When its hot, and i turn it off, to say go into the shops, come back out, start it, on tickover, and at light revs, its making this droning noise, like a oooooo which goes away once you rev it up, itl do it, once, twice maybe three times when the car drops to tickover speed again then it will clear itself?

There was a Ford TSB on this MOOING NOISE!!! You had to replace the intake with a modified air intake pipe with air resonator to prevent this noise from happening.

Mate, Glenn on here is one of my best mates, a time served mechanic, and really knows his way around a car, when mine started moosing, i text him

'my cars moosing'

he replied

'moosing ?, what the FUCK is that ?'

you really need to own and know your V6 duratecs before you even have any idea WTF moosing is

i will go into more detail tommorow, but ive been drinking, and its an easy problem to solve, but a difficult one to explain, so ill leave that till tommorow

It's a common problem. If you search it on the web there is something you can put in the pipe to stop it.

Doesnt sound anythin like that, it doesnt chatter with the revs, it just this continuous low honking sound at low revs lol infact if it sounded like that in the vid id probablyy leave it for comedy factor, its an old shitter all i want to know is if its going to damage the engine or anything ? Still trying to get another car but im so picky and undecisive !

Does it happen when you're parking up especially in reverse almost like the power steering pump but a different noise?

Mate, that video is not a good example of moosing. moosing happens at tickover, and is like a foghorn sound, that can be very quiet, or very loud, it usually clears when you rev it. i could go into detail and explain why it happens, but its very technical, and involves the smog calibration in the ECU, and how much air the ECU 'thinks' its getting, when in reality, its confused, because the pipe is knackered, and in all honesty, i dont even understand 90% of it myself, just how to explain it.

It is, instead of one solid pipe from the inlet manifold, to the air intake pipe, it is three peice pipe, that involves a fuck of piece of plastic, its the most ridiculous looking thing, but it does solve moosing, but is a bastard fortune from ford, i was lucky, as a mate of mine was breaking a V6 that had one fitted, so he gave me it for nothing.

I had this problem. I found a mk1 2.5 v6 in a scrap yard and that pipe was totally different Two small bits of pipe and a little plastic cylinder - i assume this is the ford revised kit? i fitted it to mine and been fine ever since!
