Default Insurance Problem

I've got to sell a BMW 520, but it's not my car, its my mums partners, the problem is, his insurance company won't put me on his policy, because I'm under 25 (I'm 22), and my insurance company, tell me that the car has to be registered to me (not too much of a problem) but they will only give me a twelve month policy, which I don't want to pay seeing as I'm only selling it and hopefully won't have it more than a month.

I can't see a way around it to be honest, but thought I'd ask you lot to see if you had any suggestions.

If I can't insure it, then I can't insure it, it's not the end of the world, but it's a lot easier to sell a car that you can drive I'm sure you'll understand!!

Any advice appreciated

good idea, so you can defo cancel and not have to pay the whole policy? isn't there a cancellation fee payable? I'll check with direct line.......

yes there is a cancellation fee on most policies.. if its just for a month then the only thing you will pay is the deposit.
