Can anybody help with my mates Audi TT? He has a few issues with his car at the minute but im going to start with the obvious, he has a split pipe and his car doesnt seem to be right, ive had a quick look and i believe its off his fuel pressure regulator, not sure if this pipe is causing his issues , what does the pipe do? Does any one know who does replacment pipes such as silicone ones.

Looks like a pipe for the secondary air pump. Basically when the engine is cold the secondary air pump moves air from a hot part of the engine and blows it into the air box to help speed up the warming process.

 

Fair enough, wasnt to sure myself! wouldnt effect his running issues though would it?

 

Not this time of year no unless it is allowing unmetered air in or out

 

should not make it run funny mate whats it doing ?

 

sounds like its got a split in an air pipe you can hear it whistling and it seems down on power as well, i couldnt have a feel around as the car had jus been driven so was hot!
