How would you prove a shell is an RS500 one?

Shell only without ID...? Whether it has an engine and interior or not, the ID is part of the car and comes with it imo!

@gjh: you'd check the VIN's within the RS500 range of numbers.

thats too dark for maritime blue

loosk met inside too so seems to make sence, i cant see much dodgey, eveyone seesm to sell cossie id seperately, you buy the shell on condition, he isnt saying its a rs500, just keywording it
if its a newer shell like those still available build then stripped again when it wasnt worth its parks value

like that 2000 reg'd cossie did

if thats f reg'd then the newer shell isnt going to be dung up on it
in the pic the smashed one looks like its been there 5 years (as he says) so maybe a deal in there

My old shell,
I bought a 3dr cosworth that had been painted in a similar colour to imperial blue. My plan was to strip and repaint into it's original black, however the potential of redundacy caused me to sell it all in parts. Shell was stripped down and prepped by me. Primer was applied by my mate who runs his own paint shop. Not dodgy unless he is selling it without the ID.
