Default best place to gt r888's from

as title really, i am after some r888's 195/50/r15s for my escort turbo. but they appear to have soared in price. just wondering where place is to get some from and if there are any other semi slick equivalents out there as good which are cheaper.
cheers.

I bought my Toyos from Tyredrive .

All mine were in stock a few weeks ago, and service was superb.

Worth a go!

if they carry the right EU E number approval then the police can jog on. Sounds like some jumped up bored traffic cop. Even VOSA would just check the E number approval.

not sure about this but i was told the eu where kicking up about them, i do know they had to change the t1r's because of the long scrub in period, i got a set a few months ago, they where super grippy from the moment in fitted them, 10k miles later of hard driving and there is still loads of thread left but the grip is completely gone, im spining the wheels in 3rd now ffs. There defo not the same as the t1rs i had 2 years back. ill not be buying them again.

Total Rubbish.

Toyo are still making the R888. Just something happened in Toyko recently...

As a dry track tyre. They are slightly better than the R888.

However the R888 is FAR FAR FAR better in the wet.

So R888 is a better allrounder track and road tyre in this country IMHO.

This has been a problem with Toyo since early last year as we couldn't get the rubber for Time Attack which Toyo were supporting. I spoke with Alan at Toyo and was told it was to do with Toyo and other tyre companies not requesting enough rubber, the knock on effect was the factories closed down for long periods and when all hell broke loose the performance tyre market was way down the list.

so much for Tyredrive.... DOH!!!!

Hi. Recently you purchased some tyres from us as listed below. Unfortunately these tyres are currently out of stock, therefore we can either fully refund your purchase or you could change them for something else on our website in that size. Alternatively you could wait until they come into stock (they are due in September). I would be very grateful if you could let us know how you would like to proceed and sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks,
Nick

At least Camskill are good enough to LIST stock levels.... Now they have my money. Refund will be royal pain in the Ass as I used paypal and amex...

smashing.....
