Default Idle Controll Valve Location

Can any1 help me please, I have been trying to locate my idle control valve on my escort 1.8 si zetec (silvertop). but cannot seem to find it. My car wont idle properly and keeps cutting out at junctions, my mate told it could be the idle control valve try cleaning it if no good change it. have seen pics of 1 on ebay to buy but cant find anything that looks like that on my car, Any help would be much appreciated

its normally located under the inlet manifold.you can jsut see it looking at it from gearbox side.normally got a 2 pin plug on it.also could be a vaccum pipe at back of engine split or collapsed

Can i get to it without taking the inlet manifold off?
