i have a comparison here from a hub dynoed and dd dynoed cars.

skyline made 500 whp on dd rollers shows 350 whp in 4th gear on gtech

supra was dynoed on rototest hub dyno like a dynpack, made 757 whp, gtech shows 550 whp for 4th gear.

so the results show that dd rollers showed 150 hp above my gtech, the hub dyno shows 200 hp more than the gtech, so roughly speaking in theory if my supra made 757 on hub dyno it would make about 707 whp on a dd rollers.

so according to my unscientific study if this car made 507 on hub dyno it would be around 457 on a dd.

i hope atleast someone appreciates it ive just spent 15 minutes of my life sorting this post out lol

even if that was the case then i doubt the error would just be 50bhp off no matter what the power, imagine running an old 998 mini, or my mums 2cv, it would make negative horsepower
Any dyno is as good as its operator, be it dyno dynamics, dyna pack or whatever.
this place proved to be pretty accurate with my old engine, as a t3 running 1.5 bar should make about 300bhp, and mine made 300 as it did on enhanced penis's DD rolling road.

I have a sneaky feeling that whilst John is trying to resolve his fuel delivery issues his first port of call will be to chuck on the GT40 he has sitting on the bench, but then he does have a very small penis
I only went because it said free tea

i think i should go to the same person that maps fraser's car. he seems to know what he's doing. he noticed the fuel dropping of so the run was abandoned. no point melting it.

Whats wrong with your fueling then John ?

Is your pump ok, has the fuel filter been changed ?

At least the run was aborted before it melted.

Mine made 408bhp @ the wheels on EPs rollers.

Will find out next month how true that is

not sure what the issue is yet, will try another set of inj. fuel filter has been changed, pump wiring has been re-newed. pump not been changed. the stack dash has a function to monitor low fuel pressure. if i can figure out how to set it up..

theres no way has it lost 18% from the hubs, its gotta be more than 416 hub power to be 507 flywheel.

TCF is 1.18 on the dynograph, that means that the operator off the dyno corects the "drivtrainloss" with 18%, and right 18% is questionabel on a hub dyno.
Dynapack says that drivtrainloss on rwd cars measured on hub`s normaly never go higer than 35hp.

its something that does interest me in all its aspects.

rototest is regarded as one of the besy hub dynos available
white papers here
http://www.rototest.com/function/fun...P&FileType=pdf

10% is more like the correct loss through a hub dyno.

they have done extensive testing one here of a mazda mx5 with hub power divided by 0.88 to achieve accurate engine power.

http://www.rri.se/popup/performanceg...p?ChartsID=404

and a whole catalogue of test vehicles here

http://www.rri.se/index.php?DN=29

its a god assumtion to work on whp + 12% and be reasonably accurate for realistic figures imo or flywheel power - 10.5% for hub power.

if the correction factor used has been 1.18 it made 429 hub power, so adding 12% would make 480 hp which in all honestly is more what is expected is it not ?

i have seen a skyline graph on tdp dynapack and there awd loss was just 1.1 so 10%.

Over here in Norway, many have started to only talk about, hub hp or Wheel hp. Engine hp is only "real" if the engine is dyno`d alone.

Drivetrainloss seems to be a hopless thing to measure corect.

And inn the end the only power you have is whats at the wheels.

Do anyone have dyno pics from T3 or T3/4 Cossies? I would like to see some of them.
