11.4.6. interier trim must remain fitted (ecept floor carpet/mats) - huh? Does this just mean you must have a dash and 2 seats? Or does it actually mean complete interior minus carpets?
Edit: as for areo dynamics you could probably fit the fast models bodykit, ie gti bodykit on a non gti and maybe a little splitter but I doubt theyd make much difference overall??

I'd go with either a rover 200/25 thing, cheap and there are loads of bits available for them due to their popularity in enduro events, or a civic 1.4 cause they are reliable little cars. Wouldn't go with the swift cause although they are quick and they rev well, they don't seem to produce much torque which is what I would want for travelling uphill. Or you coulod get a 1.4 fiesta like mine. How far can you go with the tuning before having to go up into the modified class? It would be worth checking as some engines may not be very responsive to modifications wheras some engine could get you good gain in power and torque with only a few mods.

AXGT
Trust me
Had one of these - at the time it was the fastest/most bhp car you could buy in the 1.3 or 1.4 category ( i.e. insurable when I was 18/19 )
Go for a 1.4 as they have the 4 stud bolt pattern - all the 106 wheels fit I believe.
Comes with plastic boot lid for starters.
Seriously fast bit of kit...
Remember - this car was first produced when cars were lightweight and made from monkey plastic and monkey metal.
Lots of lift off oversteer fun to be had too.

There you go.
Job done...
You haven't gotta fuck about finding spare wheels or a cage.

Ax Gt - my first racing car was one of these and although it only had 90 bhp it kept up with the more powerfull stuff as was just so light - 780 kgs or something close. Strangley the Ax Gti model didnt seem as quick due to the extra weight they over the Gt model. You might struggle to find a decent one now in which case the nova can be made to handle really well get some 600+ lb rear springs and some leda front struts with 3 deg neg camber and a decent 1.4 SR engine and off you go!

Puma has a bit of a weight penalty over the fiesta shell though,
Quite like the idea of a mk1 focus.
Weighs about the same as a puma but handle great and the 1.4 zetec SE is strong with 92lb-ft of torque.
Weighs 1068 dry.
great base for stepping it up a class later on as well
set of 13 inch wheels with sticky track rubber instead of the 15's or so it came with and it will fly due to short gearing

Fiesta 1.4 are quite nippy things, Mark B used to tan his old dears and give it dogs abuse on the local back roads... it really hung on in there and went well enough in a straight line.
Cheers,

I've had an idea, a charrade gtti, as a 1 litre even when you multiply by 1.4 they still fall into your class according to my maths. 99bhp, 0-60 in I believe 7.9 seconds. That would make you pretty competitive.

as stavros stated above mate, i just cant find one for decent money

I was gonna correct some of the AX GT info...but reading on, all is well lol
And considering what you're after, defo get an AX. So light and chuckable.
I LOVED my AX GT 500(oh yeah, mine was badass!) I used to jump for joy when it rained! Go out sliding everywhere. I used to get air on speedhumps and it never really needed anything bar a downpipe

Yes, but MPi Metro 16v is quicker.
Plus add TB's, cams, decent exhaust and management and lightened flywheel to it and you've gotta be looking at iro 140bhp, from an NA 1396cc car weighing next to nothing.
Don't think anything will touch that TBH.
