Default Towbar wiring

Hi Everybody.
I'm new to forum so excuse me if I get anything wrong.
I am about to acquire a new towbar for my Focus Estate TDI on 02 plate, and I am concerned about the wiring of the socket.
Firstly am I right that access to wiring is via panel on left side of back section?
Then, not having a wiring diagram for car how do I identify which wire goes to which bulb.
I believe it will come with instructions but I hoped some kind person here would be able to assist me in this [for me anyway] scary project.
Looking forward to your responses.

Don't know the colours of the wires but you can trace each one to the bulb or use a test light or multimeter to determine the wires.

No! the bypass relay which your referre to does not adjust current or voltage, all it does is allow the car wiring to activate a relay rather lighting another bulb(s) therefore not putting any more load(current) on the cars BCM (body control modual).

I'll do the wiring for you for £30.
