Default engine warning light

help please....my mum drove home a car she bought today,everything seemed ok but went out again later and the engine light came on , then started flashing and has now stayed on.

fiesta 1.3 53 shape

any ideas ???

it needs to go on a diagnostic machine, you could change parts, but the light needs resetting, the garage should do this

I have a code reader ,where abouts are you.You need the fault code to know what to do next.If it still drives o.k then it,s probably a lamda fault(common on fords)

get a code reader and fix the fault, code readers are 50 odd quid and come in handy or someone local may have one, they usually pinpont exactly the cause, i had a 03 fiesta and teh light came on cos of the 2nd o2 sensor but could be many things

til the oil light comes on i wouldnt top driving it lol

Have you got a scangauge for the Focus RS as you could use that to read any fault codes ?

Ok mate i recommend you get one as they are worth every penny just to keep a eye on your intake temps
