cossie fan (unluckerly)
I was once in rods saff with rod and his son neil now this was a long time ago and rod had his 500bhp set up we was on the hook road in basingstoke which is a long twisty duel carridgway with a few long straights there was a zx750 and an early carbed r1 (r too t i think) storm up behind us as soon as we hit the duel carridgway we raced all the way to the end of the road the zx wasent even playing the same game lol and the r1 was behind us the hole way the bike was also ridden by a guy a few of us new called ian gallaway and he can really ride a bike! at one point at the end of the road going up natly hill the cossie was off the clock and ian says he was doing around 180 and at no point was able to to move past the car they both followed us and made rod pull over and chatted about the car for a while before makeing him take them out in it. But as i say it was an early r1 (130bhp)

judgeing by this even rod would admit himself a 500 hp cossie has no chance :
Motorcycle Consumer News tests of the 1998 model year YZF-R1 yielded a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) time of 2.96 seconds and 0 to 100 mph (0 to 160 km/h) of 5.93 seconds, a ź mile time of 10.19 seconds at 131.40*mph (211.47*km/h), and a top speed of 168*mph (270*km/h), with deceleration from 60 to 0 mph (97 to 0 km/h) of 113.9*ft (34.7*m).[1] For the 1999 model year, Cycle World tests found a 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) time of 3.0 seconds, ź mile time of 10.31 seconds at 139.55*mph (224.58*km/h), and a top speed of 170*mph (270*km/h).[6]
99 model crosses 1/4 mile at 139 mph ! no 500 hp 3dr or saph is in that league even rods car now is only what 0 - 140 mph in 10 seconds ?

Bikes are anopther level, you need some serious power to see off one in a Cossie.
My old Saff was dyno'd between 375 and 385bhp numerous times and was a quick car. I met a 1000cc GSXR on the motorway and thought I'd have a go. He literally left me for dead like I was standing still.
At the weekend I saw a standard R1 run a 10.80 quarter mile followed by a standard Hayabusa which ran a 10.5. I know they have a better launch than most cars gernally but that's seriously quick.
Saying that I think 600cc bikes aren't so much of a problem for bigger power cars.

im not disbelieving you mate i just cant make sense of it, unless the r1 i raced wasnt standard i guess thats possible, i do know i only just beat him by a few lengths by 150mph ish and the supra is miles faster than my old 500 hp t4 3 door was, infact im positive my old 3 door would of been way behind by 150mph tbh against that particular bike.

No, no.. the biker left the 4i in a layby with Stevie boy crying his eyes out after finding out how much it costs to fill the bike and what MPG it does.
Nail on the head... he used to go by the username MOHAMMAD or something along those lines. He was posting ridiculous chat while little MO was still climbing down his drainpipe at night to drive his car on the sly while Mamma MO was in her scratcher.
Cheers,
Grant

Old twinkletoes has done a 9.4 can I suggest their aint another 2WD Cossie under 600 that will get within a country mile of that, Lees car is very fast in that area. Your 13 or maybe a 12 sounds more realistic for a 500/500 2wd.
that is in referal to 30 - 130 mph times rods saying 12 seconds for a 500/500 cossie is realistic, an r1 will be doing 30 - 130 in around 8 seconds so will gain a good lead by 130 mph, he mentioned he did 30 - 130 in 8.4 with 730 hp, are you sure he only had 500 hp when he beat the r1 ? ive done an 8.7 with 3 gearchanges so im gonna be around 8.2 2 shifts.

i raced an R34 skyline with 500bhp on my old V reg carb'd fireblade it was stupidly quick and sat next to me at 175mph
on a bumpy back road a car will walk away from a bike as bikes have to stand it up to get the power on
As for the harley iv stuffed them over roundabouts in my old ka turbo but there not known for there cornering prowess it all depends on the circumstances sometimes youl have them others you wont!

Very shore lol its quite a famous race around basingstoke as the guy on the bike ian was a bit of a boy and well known for being a ridder rod had his 500/500 set up like i say there were some twists on the road as ian was haveing trouble keeping the wheel down coming out of the bends trying to keep up but as said on the long straight he was on the bumper but dident go by i guess we hit that bit of road about 130ish and he couldent over take rod was off the clock and ian said he was doing almost 180 but we had to slow down as we went into to 40mph zone as i said ask rod

like i said! if you read it we proberly hit the long straight at about 130ish and we never got below 60! lol im not makeing it up mate i was in the car! and ill stand by the fact my saff with that covertion but with a gt30 over a t4 is as fast in gear on the move as my 98 r1 i have a bit of road i can do 150 in the saff and bike reads 148 dont know how good both speedos are but i know the bike stops better but i can get on the power sooner in the car

ah sorry i didnt realise it started at 130mph that makes sense to run together from that point as thats where i was getting away from the r1, below 130mph will be a whole different ballgame though my race started at 30 mph of a roundabout and we were neck and neck til i hooked 4th gear then i was pulling on him pulled a few lengths by 150.

if you want to make an arse of a bike, take them on a tight and twisty road, uesd to love going to knockhill on a bike meet, all passing me till we turn of on a five mile stretch of tight bends, undulations, some straights then in to more corners etc, and was not even a cossie.... four wheels go round tight stuff better than two...
