Default Focus idle adjust screw?

Apparently my car has an idle control screw in the throttle body. I didnt think the focus had one tbh but there you go. I was told

With the engine turned off, remove sealant from idle screw aperture on throttle body
Start and warm up engine to operating temperature
Unplug the engine idle valve connector (wire)
Using a 2.5mm Allen key, set engine idle speed to 850 rpm
Stop engine and re-fit idle valve plug
Re-start engine and road test for satisfactory operation
Finely adjust idle speed as necessary

Anyone able to help me as to where the idle screw is located on throttle body?

thats procedure is for setting the base idle. cant advise if your car has the equipment or not.

what i will say tho, is that before going down that route, if you're having idle problems, CLEAN your throttle body! get a rag in there and some carb cleaner

Where is best place to get the carb cleaner. Just fixed the crank case breather pipe as had a hole in it and revs have dropped so much my cars cutting out every time I slow down to stop. Was looking dor a way to uncrease revs and seen a vid showing what your saying. But where will I get the cleaner

It may need time for the ECU to relearn after you have fixed the split pipe. You could try disconnecting the battery for half an hour to reset it, see if that makes any difference first.

What engine is it , if it's a zetec then I think if I remember right they have a little brass screw next to the lever spring with silicon or paint over it , that should be set from factory and the idle speed control valve should do the rest. Take it off soak with carb spray inside for 30 mins clean and empty and refit . The gasket will probably be fucked so refit with silicon but let it dry before running. See how you get on , I used to clean mine every 6 months as I would start to hunt its bacause it reburns oil from the breather for emissions and just coaks everything up.

cheers paul

I don’t believe you can adjust it. It’s governed by the ISCV.
