Default compbrake rant

I really dont get some people, why is it when you want spend alot of money they seem not give a shit and fob you off with some ridicolous answers.
I have been looking at upgrading my current brakes,so i have been looking around etc etc and decided to go for the compbrake pr6 calipers. Now as my car is xr4x4 they do not list a kit on there website, fair enough so i go ahead and give them a call.
I start talking about what i want and came up with the suggeastion that a cosworth 4wd 330mm pr6 set up will fit on my hubs, but would need the caliper bracket re-making due to the offset.
To save time and hassle I offered to buy a kit and trial fit and re-measure for them to re-make the bracket, which they agreed they would do at no further cost.excellent i thought
I then got onto the price, the website shows the kit at £950 so i asked if anything could be done with the price as I have seen similar kits for other cars at a lower price on there ebay site. The guy then says that £950 is a good price and if i order thru him it would be more than that.......wtf?????
He said because he was writing an order it would put the price up.....double WTF!!
he did reccomend ordering it straight of the website at that price,so off i went and then found out that its £950 plus fucking V.A.T!!! no fucking mention of that on the product price, this then takes it to £1140.
And just to make it worse They are selling bigger rotor pr6 kits on ebay for £899 all in,Just bloody frustrating that i couldn't do a deal on the phone as most of my front set-up is all compbrake gear and I am a returning customer,I want the brakes but not at £1140,I now may look elsewhere and just build my own kit.

6 weeks!! that takes the piss.
to be fair i have never had any issues with anything i have bought from them before, but i have heard of problems, just google it and you'll find quite a few,but to counter that you'll find generally more people will post up a complaint than post up about how good something is,so sometimes not a true represenation of a company.

i live four miles away from compbrake and have heard of lots of problems with them but also lots of good things, the good things are usually about the suspension components, the bad always seem to be brake related

Yeah, build your own! When I can afford to get some machining done, I'm gonna do the same, big rotors but only cheap and cheerful wilwood 4pots!

I think I will,i always knew there was going to be some sort of fabrication but was looking at the easy route......the old saying"if you want a job done then do it yourself" springs to mind,I will just order the calipers, bells and rotors and do the rest myself.
