Default Bad Memory - Got any suggestions??

Ok, so its a running joke with the girls at work, my Mum and pretty much all of my friends that I have an appaling memory, mainly short term (ie: a week). Anything longer than that doesn't seem to cause me too much of a problem.

Today however, I have surpassed myself, today I have forgotten the following (quite major) things:

1) To pick a work collegue up this morning and bring her into work (she's only been reminding me ALL week!)

2) Forgot that above collegue is going to New york this weekend and proceeded to ask her if she was up to much tomorrow, she's only been doing everyones head in talking about going for the last month!

3) Left my passport at home, which I needed to get some money out of the bank at lunchtime (remembered at 8am but when I left the house at 8.15am i'd forgotten)

4) I went into B&Q to buy some more tiles for my bathroom, but completely forgot to buy anything to stick them to the wall with (ive only been doing the tiling all week so should really have remembered).

Now the girls in the office tell me that I have got to do something about it, they reckon I can eat certain foods to help improve my short term memory?

Any ideas? Suggestions? Pleeeeeeeeeeease

Another one signing in for this problem. I can normally remember things from months ago no problem but someones asks me on a Monday what I did at the weekend it does take a while to actually remember

I'm not sure, but i smiled to myself as i read your post, so had to ask .
I try to make things as idiot proof as possible, all my chargers (laptop, phones etc) live in my laptop bag, which is with me, or in my car, which is rarely far a way, as a battery is always about to die on me. I also keep a A4 pad in the bag, which i write all my notes and stuff like that. But even so, i still lunch it from time to time!

I find Kronenbourg and Johny Walker Black Label are very good for short term memory loss.

God, I could almost be reading about myself.

I write things down that I need to remember but then forget where I put the paper.

Last night I stuck a note to the front door to remind myself to take my sandwiches to work this morning and I still managed to forget them

Worst bit is, I got to work and realised I'd forgotten them so went out to the sandwich van that comes in, spent ages picking out this lush sounding red thai chicken roll, steak mcoys, a yorkie bar and bottle of cherry coke, then realised I'd forgotten my wallet

lol I can relate to that sooo much Steviep.

My day just got worse, I ended up staying late at work (again), got a phone call at 5.30 from the mortgage advisor that was sat outside my house for an appointment i'd made with him 2 days ago! I totally forgot so I left work in a rush, then realised I hadnt printed off the mobile number and flight details for 2 south africans ive gotta pick up from Heathrow on Sunday so had to go back into work, then rush home to meet the Advisor.

I think i'll just write today off and pray that tomorrow will be better! lol

Deffo not the case for me. I'm pretty stress free, but have still got a head like a sieve

Has it's advantages sometimes though, like when I "forget" to put the loo seat down, or "forget" to wash up

You're in good company.
The firm I work for recently asked everyone to bring their drivers licenses in to update the staff insurance details.

Every night for a week and a half, I put my licence on top of my fresh work clothes for the morning.
And every morning, I took it off the pile, put it on the bed, and walked out of the house without it.

Christ, i've gone downstairs to unlock the front door deadlock without the keys. And that's after picking them up and then placing them neatly back down again somewhere else

And, i've driven away from the house forgetting the only thing I was meant to take with me(don't know what it was, can't remember ), come back home again, got upstairs, picked up the wrong thing and not realised until i've got back in the car. Or even been sidetracked, picked up nothing at all and had to go and get back in the car to remember what it was I came back for!
What the hell is that all about?!
